Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS)
Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) is a subscription in which STP replicates your critical systems to a recovery site, either STP's partner data centre in Armenia or AWS, Google Cloud or Azure, and runs, documents and tests the failover so those systems can be brought back within agreed recovery time and recovery point objectives.

Overview
Building a second data centre to recover into is expensive, and most of it sits idle until the day it is needed. Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service replaces that with a recovery site you subscribe to: the capacity exists, the replication runs, and keeping the failover working is someone's actual job.
We start with the same questions as any recovery design: which systems matter, how long each can be down, and how much data each can afford to lose. Those answers become recovery time and recovery point objectives per system, and they decide what is replicated, how often, and to where.
The recovery site is STP's partner data centre in Armenia, a facility certified Tier III by the Uptime Institute, when systems and data must stay in the country, or AWS, Google Cloud or Azure when they need not. Failover and failback are written as runbooks a competent engineer can follow under pressure.
A failover that has never been tested is a hope. We run scheduled recovery tests, record what happened, fix what each test exposed, and keep the evidence for your auditor.
What is included
- Business impact analysis, with RTO and RPO agreed per system
- Recovery site in STP's Tier III certified partner data centre in Armenia, or in AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
- Replication of critical systems at the frequency each RPO requires
- Network and access design for the recovery site
- Failover and failback runbooks
- Scheduled recovery tests with documented results
- Remediation of what each test exposes
- Failover executed with you when a disaster is declared
- Evidence pack for auditors and regulators
What you get out of it
- A recovery site without building or staffing a second data centre
- Failover that has been rehearsed, with the results written down
- Recovery objectives you can show a regulator, not just state

Questions
- What is the difference between DRaaS and backup?
- Backup keeps copies of data so it can be restored. Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service keeps whole systems replicated to a recovery site and ready to run, so they can be brought back within an agreed time rather than rebuilt from backups. Most organisations need both, at different levels for different systems.
- Where does the recovery site run?
- In STP's partner data centre in Armenia, which is certified Tier III by the Uptime Institute, or in AWS, Google Cloud or Azure. The choice follows your data residency obligations and the systems being protected.
- How is Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service priced?
- As a monthly subscription. The fee depends on the setup and architecture of the recovery, the functionality you need, and the volume of data replicated, so it is sized after the recovery objectives are agreed rather than quoted from a list.
- What service levels do you commit to?
- They are agreed per client rather than fixed in a catalogue. Response times, coverage hours and reporting are tuned to what your systems and obligations require, and written into the subscription.
- How is DRaaS different from your Disaster Recovery service?
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity is the design, documentation and testing work, delivered as a project or alongside a recovery site you already have. DRaaS adds the recovery site itself and STP running it, for a monthly fee.
